WHY BEE-SAFE DRINK TOPPERS?
Hello! My name is Alan Mapes, and I am the creator of Bee-Safe Drink Toppers. I want to share with you the reason I created Drink Toppers.
One summer, I was sitting on my back patio enjoying a cold beverage. I took a sip of my drink and I suddenly noticed I had a bee in my mouth. As I was spitting out the bee, it stung my inner lip. The bee unfortunately died. My inner lip swelled and the pain set in. I was angry at the bee for stinging me while I was sitting there in pain. After I cooled down, I realized that it was not the bee’s fault at all.
Those of us that have pets protect them by recognizing what would be a threat or hazard keeping them out of harm’s way. I thought all of us should protect the bees with this same mind set, keeping our most important pollinator safe.
Let us all do our small part to “Save the Bees.”

I initially decided to make Drink Toppers just for my own personal use. However, after evaluating dozens of prototypes, I produced the perfect design on both the pull tab can and the long neck bottles. I decided to have them professionally produced for consumers, thinking others would enjoy them as well.
Another plus is if a person is allergic to bee stings, Bee-Safe Drink Toppers can help reduce the risk of a bee sting while correctly using Bee-Safe Drink Toppers. So, let us avoid lip stings and bee deaths by using Bee-Safe Drink Toppers. It is up to all of us to help our bees to keep their date to pollenate for the good of the food we consume and our beautiful planet.

I am a retired policeman, injured on the job after 15 years of service. I retired as a LVN after 29 years of employment with the Veterans health care system.
When I was a child, I always took things apart and had a keen curiosity about mechanical items and how they were made. I remember my mom telling me, “Do not touch the washer or the refrigerator!” Even though I was tempted, I never touched either of those. I was always creating things for myself and others, but I have never owned a business until I created Bee-Safe products.
I also remember my mom saying to me many times, “Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door.”
When I created Bee-Safe Drink Toppers, I was not thinking about what my mom said nor did I really think I would intend to sell the product initially. I just wanted to solve my problem of keeping bees and flies off and out of my drinks. After seeing the final product completed and sharing the idea with friends and family, it seems that others are interested in keeping bees and flies off and out of their drinks as well. Cheers!
